PREQUESITE 

TOMEL TRAINING, LLC  recommends a minimum of one lesson prior to registering for Basic Pistol Class either PRIVATE LESSON OR ATTEND THE SHOOTING CLINIC SERIES

This is the foundation for all of the classes.

If you want to learn how to safely own and operate a handgun this is the place to start.

This is the class that teaches you the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude needed to safely own and operate a handgun.

This class is eight hours and starts in the classroom with firearm safety. You will learn how to safely handle, load and unload a firearm. Once you are comfortable with this phase we will move on to aiming.

We will cover the basics of marksmanship, how to correctly and safely aim the handgun and hit the target. Once you are comfortable with this we will move onto the range where you will begin to develop these skills.

We start seated on the shooting bench at 3 yards putting into practice skills learned in the classroom.

Eventually you will be able to stand up and continue practicing the skills.

You will be able to complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification.

Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting Handbook; complete the Basics of Pistol Shooting Examination and upon course completion NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and NRA Certified Instructor.

For all the students that have successfully completed the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Class with us, we offer an individual Handgun Fitting to help you determine the right gun for your needs.

To find the right gun:

First it must fit your hand, you must be able to reach the trigger, manipulate the controls with your shooting hand thumb, have sights that you can see, and be able to shoot it comfortably. 

This will enable you to identify the right model for you to purchase.

Price: $35.00 (includes $10. facility fee), students must provide a box of factory ammunition.

BRING YOUR FIREARM.

WE WILL PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CLEAN IT.

YOU MAY BRING YOUR CLEANING KIT IF YOU HAVE ONE OR USE OURS.

THE PREQUESITE FOR THIS CLASS IS THE NRA BASICS OF PISTOL SHOOTING CLASS

If you have decided that you want a handgun for self-defense, this is where you will begin to learn the basic skills of Defensive Handgun use.

 You will start to learn how to safely draw a handgun from the holster.

The goal of this course is to give you the knowledge, skills and attitude needed to develop a defensive mindset necessary to carry and use a pistol ethically, responsibly and with confidence.

We will review the NRA Rules for Safe Gun Handling and you will be able to demonstrate how to apply them when carrying a handgun.

The four levels of awareness and how they apply to you.

Special safety considerations that must be observed when carrying a handgun.

You will begin to learn the first seven basic defensive skills.

You will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection outside the Home Handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure and upon completion the NRA Defensive Pistol Certificate.

This course will prepare you for more advanced classes, NRA CCW, NRA Personal Protection in the Home and NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home.

THIS COURSE IS ONLY CONDUCTED BY NRA CERTIFIED  ADVANCED PISTOL INSTRUCTORS.

PRE- COURSE EVALUATION

$35. PER STUDENT  (INCLUDES $10 FACILITY FEE)

STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED NRA BASICS OF PISTOL SHOOTING WITH TOMEL TRAINING, LLC ( or it is more than 3 months since completion)

 WILL BE REQUIRED TO DEMONSTRATE SAFE GUN HANDLING, MARKSMANSHIP AND FIREARM KNOWLEDGE.

UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION STUDENTS WILL HAVE $25. CREDITED TOWARD THE COST OF THE COURSE.

LEARN TO CARRY A CONCEALED FIREARM

This is a two day class.

We suggest that you have completed NRA Defensive Pistol Course prior to taking this course.

NRA CCW takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment.  Teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. 

 Course topics include: Firearm Safety ( Mandatory), Pistol nomenclature and selecting a pistol for self defense, Basic Defensive Pistol Skills, Drawing from Concealment, Loading and Stoppage Remediation, Mindset, Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment, Firearm Cleaning, Sport shooting and Training activities.  

Additionally students complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with your NRA Certified Instructor. 

Students will receive reference books, take an NRA CCW Student Examination and upon successful completion receive a course

certificate bearing the signature of the NRA secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

PROTECT YOURSELF AT HOME 

Teaches  the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law abiding individual's right to self-defense.

PREQUESITE: Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes by producing and NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA First Steps Course Certificate, and NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.

Description:  This is an eight hour course.  Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition.  Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.  

Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection in the Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules Brochure, and upon successful completion, the course  certificate.

DEFEND YOURSELF 180 DEGREES FROM A THREAT

Prerequisite: Students must have successfully passed Personal Protection in the Home and Prove it, or pass the pre-course assessment to demonstrate the required knowledge skills and attitude.

This is a two-day course.

Day one: Entirely in the classroom. Students learn the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude that must be mastered to carry, store, and use a concealed firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home.

Day two: Starts in the classroom and evolves to several hours on the range acquiring the necessary skills.

250 rounds of practice ammunition are recommended.

Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home Handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules Brochure and upon successful completion will receive the course certificate.

Develops NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe 

shooting activities and range operations.

Attendees must be age 21 or above. This course is nine hours long and is conducted in a classroom.

Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. 

Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure.
